Privacy Policy

Players Look exists to showcase young athletes safely. This policy explains what we collect, how we protect it, and — because most athletes on this platform are minors — the specific safeguards we build around kids.

The short version for parents

What we collect

Account information: the parent's name, email address, and password (stored as a one-way hash). Coach accounts include name, work email, school or organization, and title.

Athlete profile content you provide: name, graduation year, school, measurables, statistics, schedules, photos, video, testimonials you approve, and news items. You decide what goes on the page and whether the page is public.

Billing: payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store card numbers — only your subscription status and plan.

Usage information: standard server logs and page-view counts for athlete pages (used to show you how often the page is viewed). View counting uses a short-lived hashed identifier, not a tracking profile.

How we protect athletes

Children's privacy (COPPA)

Players Look is designed for parent-managed accounts. We collect a child's information only with the consent of, and under the control of, the parent or guardian who owns the account. Parents can review everything stored about their athlete from the dashboard, correct it, choose whether it is public, and delete it entirely. To exercise any of these rights or ask questions, email privacy@playerslook.com — we respond to verified parent requests promptly.

Who can see what

Published athlete pages are public web pages — that is their purpose. Unpublished profiles are visible only to your account. Coach search covers only published pages. In your dashboard we show you which verified coaches follow your athlete and every message a coach has sent.

Sharing

We share data only with the service providers required to run Players Look — payment processing (Stripe), email delivery (Amazon SES), and file storage (Amazon S3) — each bound to use it solely to provide their service. We do not sell personal information. We disclose information beyond this only if required by law or to protect the safety of a child.

Retention and deletion

Content stays as long as your account is active. When you delete an athlete or your account, public pages come down immediately and the underlying data — including all photos and video in storage — is permanently purged after a 30-day grace window (kept only so accidental deletions can be reversed). Billing records are retained as required for tax and accounting purposes.

Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit, passwords are hashed with a modern algorithm, staff access requires two-factor authentication, and media lives in private storage served through expiring links.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes materially we will notify account holders by email. Questions: privacy@playerslook.com.
